The Oddysey keeps throwing major problems at Odysseus that he needs to have faith in the gods to get through them." First I will transform you-no one must know you. I will shrivel the supple skin on your lithe limbs, strip the russet curls from yout head and deck you out." p.299 L. 454-456. This happend when Odysseus Returned to a Ithica that has been torn apart by the suitors. If Odysseus didn't wait to go into the palace he would have been reconized by the suitors and probably would have been killed. But Odysseus understood the situation and patiently waited to penatrate the palace while hoping for help from the gods. by doing this the Goddess Athena Changed Odysseus's appearence so he could walk the palace as an unknown begger.
The Odyssey has many tasks that require faith in the gods. "swept along by the whitecaps past the trim black hull and the god cut short their journey home forever" P.284 L. 451-452. Odysseus and his crew was bailed into the sea by the God Poseidon being washed around in the ocean because Poseiden felt Odysseus and his crew weren't fully faithful so they were punished and ended on Calypso's island.
The Odyssey has obstacles that require belief in the gods to over come them. " Do For the two of us? Or shall I rack My brains for another champion?" P. 346 L. 392-393 Zues Tells Odysseus to tell telemachus that he is his father. Odysseus has to believe in Zues his god to succesfully destroy the suitors. Odysseus listens to his god and talks to Telemachus revealing himself as Odysseus this trust in the god that Odysseus has helps him to do things at the right time.

Your quotes do not demonstrate your theme of having faith in the gods. Sometimes they actually show the opposite (as when Poseidon punishes him).
